Library applauds top student employees

Six of the Library’s best student workers earned Fuerst Awards this year, in a ceremony held in Olin Library on April 9.

A reception and award ceremony honored the seniors. They worked in diverse parts of the library system, including Library Facilities, ILR, the Kheel Center, the Law Library, Library Finance & Budget and the Division of Rare and Manuscript Collections.

This is the 19th year of the awards, which are made possible by William F. Fuerst ’39. Fuerst established the award to recognize exceptional student employees for their work and leadership at Cornell. At $500 each, the Fuerst Awards are the largest monetary gifts for student workers; the Library is the second-largest student employer on campus, behind Campus Dining.
